Has anyone had a chance to review Free Internet Web Directory as of yet? I checked on Web Directory Reviews and did not see it on the list.

Aesthetically I liked the way it looked. It was a simple design (I'm partial to simplicity) that was easy on the eyes and does not have a lot to distract the viewer from what they are doing. I did a few simple checks around and found things to be in order, as far as I could tell. That is about as far as I can review it. Anyone able to review it a bit more deeply?

It's in my directory of directories. I probably haven't reviewed it yet because I have been reviewing only the larger directories until this quarter, when I seem to have run out of larger directories to review. I agree that it looks nice, being a sucker for pastels. There are an awful lot of empty categories, but I've reviewed sites with empty categories before.

I thought it was interesting that they are pretty high up in different search terms I used for directories (internet directories, web directories, directories) in bing. If you get a chance to thoroughly review it can you update this thread? I'm interested to see where this one may be heading. From past understanding, if the SE favors a directory to place it high, then the sites that are listed with that directory will be highly favored also. Of course that is old information and may not be still true. Please correct me if I am wrong on that.

It stands to reason that if more people are able to find a directory, then more people are likely to find any sites listed within it, and also that it is probably indexed more frequently. Google really does a bad job of determining a good directory from a bad one, however, if the Google SERPs are any indication. It probably ranks well because of its name.

I have yet to try out free internet web directory. Since I am aware of what the website is I do plan to check it out to see how it is. Thanks for sharing the link. I will share anything free directories that I come across as well. I plan to use stumble upon a whole lot more for 2015 to gain access to random sites that spark my interest. I will try using stumble upon to find more free directories since they are very useful. I actually want to start my own worldwide free business directory myself.

Awesome Bee, because my sites are new they need all the help they can get but I don't have the money to do so. Free web directories (free anything actually) is the only way I have to go at the moment. I look forward to your future post on free directories.

Being around for five years, I would expect a directory to have more listed sites and fewer empty categories. Given the absence of much substantial content, I'd think that someone might want to review some of the 128247 submissions that they claim to have pending, since that would increase the size of their directory by nearly thirty times. If they accept free submissions, my assumption is that most of these submissions are spam.

When a directory owner has to make a false claim about being one of the most highly ranked directories, that sort of turns me off too. I've seen worse site descriptions though, although some categories (Affiliate Schemes) are right down there in the dirt with the worst of them. All in all, I've seen worse, but I've also seen a lot better. Way too many empty categories to be taken seriously.
